Nickelodeon 's Consumer Products team is responsible for some of the world’s most iconic toys and goods. They bring on-air programming to life through creative design and retail programs. This team serves as the junction point between the Consumer Products Account Executives (AEs), Finance, Accounting, Business & Legal Affairs (BALA), Creative and Media & Technology Services teams in support of a $200MM global Consumer Products business. The goal of the group is to drive operational excellence through technology, process improvement and data analytics.
Responsibilities
• Manage day to day responsibilities of two NY-based Contract Compliance Analysts and three off-shore Contract Operations Analysts who enter and validate contractual data in contract management systems
• Enforce Viacom Policies & Procedures, GAAP and ensure proper financial controls and procedures are in place, focusing on Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
• Partner quarterly with a cross functional team to refresh CP Health Checks Policy (a robust set of Business, Finance and Legal guidelines)
• Provide counsel throughout the team’s review of proposed deal terms for compliance to guidelines established by Finance, Legal and Brand Management
• Provide the team with guidance around contract language interpretation and system application
• Perform critical evaluation of contract language against system capabilities; make strategic recommendations for process improvement; build cases for change and see initiatives through to completion
• Advise/resolve complex contract trouble tickets daily
• Perform monthly analysis of volume, aging and trends within both a web-based deal submission tool and a separate trouble ticketing system
• During times of high volume perform contract data entry and execution
• Design KPIs to drive operational improvement
• Design stop gap procedures to remedy findings from weekly contract execution audits and integrity reporting
• Coordinate with Systems Operations to raise system defects to MTS that impact deal execution and entry
• Liaise with Systems Operations to facilitate their outreach to Collections, Billing, Finance, and MTS on new processes and workarounds impacting other departments
• Troubleshoot inquiries from various functional areas across the CP business
• Manage quarterly review of internal/external training materials and departments SOPs to ensure process optimization
• Manage and execute on ad hoc projects including but not limited to:
• Agent transitions
• Property acquisitions
• Assessing impact of process and policy changes
Basic Qualifications
• B.A., B.S. in Business or Finance
• 3-5 years preferably of licensing industry work experience or similar
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Additional Qualifications
• Management experience preferred
• Experience in licensing, operations and legal affairs preferred
• Understanding of General Accounting Principles (royalty accounting is a plus)
• Ability to trace an issue to find its root cause and final impact
• Financial skills (knowledge of entertainment and licensing industry practices)
• Ability to understand and interpret contracts
• Business software application knowledge
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Proactive mindset with ability to provide creative solutions to complex problems
• Willingness to challenge the status quo to continually improve organization, process and technology
• Highly analytical and detail oriented with ability to see the big picture and work on cross-divisional projects with many stakeholders
• Ability to multitask and manage diverse projects and assignments
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively (i.e. leader as well as team player)
