Full Time Unpaid Internship
Nickelodeon UK Programming Intern
Reporting to VP, Programming, the Nickelodeon Programming Intern is a key operational support role for the teams within the Programming department. Helping to ensure clear and accurate communication between the teams, the position is heavily reliant on accurate data entry, as well as flexibility to work across multiple tasks simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
CHANNEL PLANNING
• Weekly COSTA checks and monitoring of quotas – AD, subtitles and EU (communication with Ant and running of the EU reports)
• Maintenance of the linear scheduling documents and communication of plans where relevant:
• Entering linear scheduling plans into International Access Network (IAN) site
• Episode inventory (cross checking Highlights with IAN and WON)
• Highlights (archiving and keeping the folders tidy)
• As-live reports to media planning
• Weekly highlights for internal communications email
• Assist with stunt plans and adding synopsis information
EDITORIAL OPERATIONS
• Monitoring Editorial Operations team inbox and assigning tasks
• Transferring media to internal departments and 3rd parties
• Working with internal teams as well as external content distributors to ensure all media is received in time
• Ensuring all programme data is correct in channel management system (CMS – What’s ON)
• Collaborating with the Planning team to ensure all schedule changes are communicated to the Editorial Operations team
• Viewing, editing and exporting content for various teams across Nickelodeon UK
MEDIA PLANNING
• Input of channel media plans in Excel and adding information to Highlights calendar
• Add and amend media identification numbers (ABC #s) into CMS
• Amend make list changes
• Provide cover for channel media-planning during team absence
• As-live and complimentary scheduling maintenance
VOD/MULTI-PLATFORM
• Assisting Coordinator with preparation of required weekly blackout reports (IPTV, Simlucast, NPVR REPG, Startover etc.) for all platform partners
• Assist Coordinator with preparation of monthly catch-up metadata
• Monthly creation of episodic images for all VOD content sent to platform partners
• Monthly tagging of all VOD content for Nick Play authenticated platform in CMS (What’s On)
• Provide cover for VOD operational processes in absence of Coordinator
ACQUISITIONS & DEVELOPMENT
• Requesting, logging & distributing (where necessary) all supporting materials for series & movies that air on Nickelodeon U.K. Channels
• Assessing proposals & screeners using the Nick brand filters & channel needs as a guide
• Being the point of contact for all rating & scheduling information requests from our partners
• Assisting the Programming Executive with the localisation of series & attending castings plus voice records as required
• Co-ordinating & shadowing on current productions ensuring deadlines are met & feedback logged
OVERALL
• Provide administrative assistance to Programming teams in ad hoc duties
• Closely monitor key competitors in the market and distribute review reports , including premiere episode monitoring and general Kids’ TV market information
