The coordinator for Nickelodeon Kids & Family Standards and Practices is responsible for ensuring that programming is presented and meet standards of good taste and community acceptability across all Nickelodeon Group multiplatform networks: Nickelodeon, Nicktoons, TeenNick, Nick@Nite Nick Music, and occasionally, Nick Jr. The coordinator is a key player in the department’s efforts to ensure that programming and promotional content comply with FCC, FTC, industry guidelines and Nickelodeon best practices.
• The coordinator will review all stages of scripts and cuts to provide notes to producers of original and acquired Nickelodeon content including promos, short form and long form programming. Criteria include safety, mature themes, language and cultural sensitivities.
• The coordinator is expected to use critical thinking skills and provide creative solutions.
• The Coordinator also participates in the daily review of commercial logs for Nick, Nicktoons, Nick Jr. and TeenNick; and the coverage of live events.
• Coordinator will also attend various department meetings and on occasion operate the delay button on live productions after hours on weekend.
• Native or Bilingual proficiency in Spanish.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 2 years’ work experience
• Native or Bilingual proficiency in Spanish
• Knowledge and interest television and children’s programming
• Strong interpersonal skills – highly collaborative and respectful of others
• Strong communication skills – written and verbal
• Good editorial judgment
• Good diplomacy and negotiation skills
• Detail-oriented
