Spanish language newscast and digital content producer
Telemundo Valle Central in Bakersfield has an opening for a digital and newscast producer who is fluent in Spanish and an expert in Spanish grammar.
This is a full-time, permanent entry-level job in Bakersfield, 100 miles north of Los Angeles.
This is a pretty good job for someone who wants someday to be on air. It is a terrific job for a behind-the-scenes journalist who loves using the written word to tell a good story and make the world a better place.
The successful candidate will be fluent in Spanish and an expert in Spanish grammar. This is a job for someone who studied Spanish syntax in college.
The person we hire will be able to write news stories for television and for our webpage in flawless Spanish. He or she will be able to read Spanish aloud.
The job requires enough English fluency for the successful candidate to interact with our English-only colleagues on our sister station, KGET NBC/Bakersfield.
Telemundo Valle Central broadcasts two hours of local news every weekday. Our station is owned by Nexstar Media Group and provides industry standard wages and benefits.

• Produces newscasts for broadcast across all platforms
• Writes and orders news stories
• Approves scripts
• Balances news and feature content to create compelling broadcasts
• Edits video
• Writes stories for the website and other eMedia platforms
• Interacts with viewers and users on social media sites
• Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements & Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
• Fluency in Spanish
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Minimum two years' experience in news operations (Depending on market size)
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Flexibility to work any shift
