Department: Stadium Tours
Reports To: Vice President, Events & Brand Experiences
FLSA: Exempt
SUMMARY: The Director of Stadium is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of public and private tour program, as well as managing the day-to-day operations of the tours department.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with Vice President of Events and Brand Experiences in creating and implementing a plan for efficient and effective tour operations, quality control and reporting
• Implement and manage operational changes
• Daily Oversight of the department including tours, staff scheduling, managing timelines and troubleshooting
• Develop and maintain operational details including routes and scripts, space planning and logistical coordination
• Build strong rapport with Guests, vendors, tourism partners and internal staff
• Update stakeholders and leadership team on performance, Guest experiences and project progress
• Assign and oversee short and long-term projects to appropriate staff members and follow through until successful completion
• Integration and participation in New York City tourism groups and initiatives to build relationships and cultivate business through tourism partners; attend off-site networking events and meetings during ''off-hours'' (evenings and weekends)
• Ensure legal compliance in regards to safety, operations and labor standards
• Conduct routine and short-notice quality assurance audits; hold employees accountable for performance audits on a regular basis
• Conduct detailed walk-throughs to ensure tour areas are well-maintained and meet/exceed Guest expectations.
• Work closely with Vice President of Events and Brand Experiences to develop revenue generating strategies including, but not limited to enhancing and growing the current Yankee Stadium tours model as well as developing an off-site model including educational initiatives to extend the brand
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality & Tourism or related field
• 5-8 years of experience in coordinating a variety of activities and operations at a tourism location, stadium or other large public facility
• Proven experience managing a large staff
• Demonstrated customer service skills
• Extensive knowledge of baseball history
• Extensive knowledge of the New York Yankees and Yankee Stadium history
• Requires continual attention to detail and high level of organization
• Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
• Experience using Microsoft Ticketmaster, CRM and ABI databases preferred
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally
• Exceptional presentation skills and proven experience talking to large groups
• Prior experience managing budgets
• Ability to multitask and prioritize
• Proven leadership ability
• Flexible work schedule including, nights, weekends and holidays
