Summary:
The Sales Associate will initiate revenue generating opportunities for the Mets and affiliated properties through outreach by establishing appointments with potential partners locally, regionally, and nationally. Working with Corporate Partnership sales staff these meetings aim to develop into fully integrated partnerships consisting of in-park signage, scoreboard features, retail promotions, publication advertising, promotional giveaway days, mets.com, SNY, and other marketing opportunities at Citi Field and beyond. Our Sales Associates reach their goals by phone and email prospecting along with internal/external event prospecting in order to set outside appointments and conference calls. They are also responsible for updating and maintaining account and outreach records via CRM and other duties as assigned. Additionally, Sales Associates will participate in dedicated sales training to set the candidate up for success both in this role and future opportunities. This position will have set start and end dates.
Essential Functions:
• Responsible for, but not limited to, setting appointments with corporations to discuss revenue generating partnership opportunities with the Mets and affiliated properties
• Work closely with Senior Director, Corporate sales to meet or exceed established outreach and meeting goals
• Implement and demonstrate outbound sales efforts by using sales and service best practices, prospecting, networking, lead generation, referral gathering, data capture and personal database management
• Generate a pre-determined minimum number of weekly out of office as well as in stadium ''face-to-face'' meetings in addition to conference calls to create new business opportunities
• Diligently maintain outreach and meeting records via CRM system
• Continually create and implement unique sales strategies, ideas and programs as a means of producing new business opportunities
• Contribute positively to the sales team culture by developing mutually beneficial working relationships with all team members
• Participate and contribute to sales team meetings and training sessions
Qualifications:
• Undergraduate degree
• 1-2 years of professional team and/or sports sales experience preferred
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Excellent oral and written communication, customer service and problem solving skills
• Ability to function in fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects and adhere to deadlines
• Proficient computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and Outlook) as well as the ability to learn and master new software programs including the Mets CRM system (Microsoft CRM)
• Availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
