POSITION SUMMARY:
The position of a Teen Technical Assistant is an hourly paid seasonal position (June 24, 2022 - August 20th, 2022 ; Monday through Friday 9:30am to 5:00pm) working with Teens (Middle School and High School aged campers, Ages 14-17 years old) as they partake in the New York Film Academy's Summer Visual and Performing Art programs.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following responsibilities are general duties that a particular employee in this position may or may not be required to perform. The day-to-day duties required of this position may vary.
Supervise campers when they're in and out of class, occasionally attending classes with campers
Help instructors in class whenever needed
Supervise campers during their production workshops
Leading class warm ups and activities in absence of the instructor
Assisting overall in providing a fun and engaged atmosphere for campers to learn
Communicating any personal camper needs or concerns to the Camp Director
Occasionally acting with, running camera for or generally operating as a crew member for campers
Other duties as required
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION:
Preferred: Previous experience working with kids/teenagers and or industry experience on film sets
visual and/or performing arts knowledge
Bachelor's degree or in progress
Minimum of 21 years of age
A passion and desire for creation and team work
REPRESENTATIVE MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT AND/OR SOFTWARE USED:
The following machines, tools, equipment and / or software are commonly, but not always, associated with the performance of this position. Actual machines, tools, equipment and/ or software used will vary.
Preferred: SUV and/or Van driving knowledge
Editing software knowledge a plus (Adobe Premiere)
Camera/equipment knowledge required: (HMC, Canon 5D, shotgun mics, booms, c-stands, OFT kits and more)
Must: Have experience on set/on camera or in production
OVERALL REQUIREMENTS:
Possible overtime
ENVIRONMENTAL / ATMOSPHERIC WORKING CONDITIONS:
The following environmental / atmospheric working conditions are commonly, but not always, associated with the performance of this position. The actual working conditions will vary.
- Outdoor/Indoor Film Set environment
- On location for activities
- Office environment
