LEAD PRODUCER / PRODUCTION MANAGER (full-time)
New Sky Pictures seeks a highly organized, efficient, and detail-oriented full-time lead producer who will serve as our in-house line producer / production manager responsible for all aspects of our production pipeline (including post supervision) for our flagship New Sky Kids channel, one of the top kids programmers on YouTube with nearly 2 million subscribers and 1.5 billion views from over 200 countries.
We produce a variety of short-form live-action web series for kids starring kids, aimed at ages 6-10, spanning several formats (including scripted and unscripted), frequently partner with major national brands, and are on an exciting growth trajectory. Our production slate typically comprises one 8-10 hour shooting day per week, yielding 1-3 webisodes (typically 9-12 minutes) each depending on the series/format. We very rarely film on weekends, and never at night, and are committed to a healthy work/life balance for our team. We are also one of the largest employers of child actors in the region, so it is a paramount responsibility of this position to ensure a supportive and safe environment for kids.
OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversees production teams through development, prep, production, and post to create excellent final products, on budget and on schedule.
• Creates and manages production and post-production schedules, deadlines, and deliverables for multiple episodes of multiple projects simultaneously.
• Responsible for assessing feasibility and scope of current and upcoming projects, advising on best course of action to achieve company and project goals.
• Maintains and adapts organizational systems to effectively keep team in sync and working efficiently.
• Manages all cast, parent, crew, contractor, location, and office intern relationships, including hiring/onboarding.
• Creates and maintains project-specific and monthly budgets and actuals.
• Manages content pipeline, ensuring production and post-production timelines align to meet pipeline demands.
• Works closely with creative department to ensure vision for overall tone and production design elements are achieved
• Maintains highly organized asset management system, ensuring all editors are equipped, all video assets are organized, and final projects are backed up.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelors degree or greater, preferably in Film
• 3-5+ years experience in film/TV/video producing, esp. line producing, production management, supervision and/or coordinating
• In-depth knowledge of production & post-production workflow, esp. low-budget experience & Adobe Creative Suite expertise
• Successful track record of managing multiple projects/teams on budget and schedule
• Highly proficient with spreadsheet, scheduling, and task management duties and software
• Proficiency with hiring and onboarding new production team members
• Able to see the big picture of projects/timelines while having meticulous attention to detail
• Excel at delegating tasks and demonstrate exceptional communication skills
• Highly organized, focused, and efficient multitasker and decision-maker
• Adaptive, highly flexible, results-driven, creative problem solver
• Able to maintain positive relationships with a variety of people
• Strong experience in personal leadership development and self-growth
