Sr. International Tax Analyst (LATAM)

Netflix is seeking a Senior International Tax Analyst to join its Tax Team, reporting to the LATAM Regional Tax Lead. This role will be based in Los Gatos CA, and will provide international tax planning and analytical support as Netflix expands its commercial footprint in Latin America and the Caribbean. The ideal candidate will be bilingual (English/Spanish), have excellent organizational and analytical skills, and be able to digest and clearly communicate complex tax advice to both internal and external business partners.
Responsibilities:
• Support the LATAM Regional Tax Lead in partnering with internal cross-functional teams (legal, finance, HR, treasury, accounting, etc.) on regional expansion and tax planning initiatives
• Manage local tax advisors and obtain relevant written advice to substantiate our position on key tax issues related to business partnerships, cross-border transactions, market entry and entity formation.
• Assist in managing the global PE risk of the business due to increased global mobility of employees.
• Assist in reviewing third party and intercompany agreements from a tax perspective to ensure key deal terms are consistent with our global structure and activities, and our transfer pricing policies
• Assist in tracking changes in relevant tax laws and regulations across LATAM, and engaging with local government offices on tax policy matters such as VAT and digital services tax, as appropriate
• Analyze and document tax technical issues such as the character of income under tax treaty, permanent establishment risks, withholding analysis, etc.
Qualifications:
• 4 years of relevant tax experience in a public accounting and / or an in-house international tax role
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting / Economics / Business Administration or related field; Master's in Taxation / Accountancy / JD / LLM preferred
• Bilingual in English / Spanish. Portuguese a plus but not required.
• Solid understanding of fundamental U.S. and international corporate income and indirect tax concepts
• Experienced in analyzing and documenting tax technical issues common to the digital economy
• Self-starter with ability to shift quickly between multiple projects and produce high quality work product in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Strong oral and written communication skills (in both English and Spanish) and the ability to effectively interact cross-functionally and with external advisors
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications including advanced features of Excel, PowerPoint, and tax research software and tools
