With more incredible series and films on the way, it's a great time to join Netflix.
The Role
The Publicity Manager for Hong Kong/Taiwan will strategize, manage, and execute publicity campaigns in market for original series, documentaries, and films, adapting global strategies for the needs of their markets and making use of multiple earned media channels, including broadcast, print, and online. He/She will focus on creating cultural moments and high impact campaigns, explore new tactics of promoting series, films, and documentaries, and will be able to communicate different facets of their campaigns to agencies and other audiences across Netflix.
She/He will have experience working at or with an agency, as she/he will manage agencies in the market (where applicable) to pitch media, secure opportunities, and cover set visits or help plan and work junkets. He/She will serve as the expert on Taiwan/HK and will be able to convey cultural needs and nuances that impact the global campaign. She/He can formulate and manage a budget as well as give visibility into their process successfully. He/She is confident and creative in their writing; capable of crafting everything from a strategy to executive messaging to a press release and everything in between. A strong candidate is able to make wise decisions, even when faced with ambiguity, thinks strategically, does not fall back on PR 101 tactics, and is eager to put a new spin on what a media campaign cna be. She/He can articulate what she/he is - and is not - trying to do. He/She is a good listener and a real doer; able to multi-task and work at a quick pace. She/He can handle a vast amount of work, is eager to learn, curious, and also contributes effectively outside of her/his specialty. A good fit in the role has a candid and direct communication style - willing to admit mistakes quickly and questions values inconsistent with Netflix's values and culture. He/She understands that sometimes the job requires delivering bad news and is tactful in handling such issues.
He/she will be a member of a small, seasoned group of professionals, based in Singapore, helping to formulate, execute, and sustain a global media strategy for Netflix in Asia. The Communications function is viewed by Netflix senior management as strategically critical to building on the company's already impressive success in a fast-changing, highly competitive global media landscape.
