Producing quality VFX content at scale, efficiently and with less friction is a challenge that requires fresh thinking. The VFX global resource department assesses visual effects vendors and talent to align global supply with internal demand. Resource availability, capacity and competency are mapped to Netflix's vast output of global titles. This unique department keeps a pulse on VFX market activity and works cross functionally to formulate strategic decisions to provision and support production.
The successful candidate must have in depth core understanding of the global VFX market and proven experience with vendor management, data modeling and analytics. They know what it takes to service a global network of VFX managers supporting a wide range of buying teams and content verticals.
This is truly a unique role will partner with cross-functional teams across all of Netflix from Creative to Production, Legal to Finance and pretty much everything in between.
Responsibilities
• Integrate existing and develop new tool sets to deliver insightful analytics and that aid in driving strategic resource decisions
• Partner with data science engineering to develop KPI metrics and dashboards to manage and track global resource
• Improve VFX production efficiency and promote standardized slate and workflow reporting practices
• Oversee resource partnerships and regional account coordinators to ensure vendor and talent term deals are optimally utilized
• Prepare guidance materials for studio leadership to identify potential resource supply shortages or vendor capacity surpluses
• Create process to maintain market pricing, capacity and competency data on vendors and talent
• Identify trends and methods to optimize the deployment of visual effects work around the world
• Manage and grow the VFX Resources team
Qualifications
• Highly analytical and effective communicator able to perform in-depth strategic analysis and provide executive recommendations with thoughtful support
• Thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and exhibit the highest personal and professional standards of integrity and ethics
• Motivated, disciplined, and able to work autonomously
• Ability to manage and foster vendor relationships
• Understanding of creative technologies pipelines and workflows
• Deep knowledge of supply chain management and process innovation
• Skilled in developing technical solutions and creatively applying them in operational problems
• Extensive experience conducting quantitative and qualitative financial analysis
• Superior proficiency with Excel, Tableau, Google Sheets and complex financial modeling
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision; must be a self-motivated self-starter who will take ownership of work
• Lead diverse teams and develop top talent
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Requirements
• 7 years of production, operations, financial planning and analysis experience in a studio or production environment
• Bachelor's degree with an emphasis on coursework of a quantitative nature, preferably business, economics, or mathematics
• MBA preferred
