Netflix's Talent Relations & Awards team is looking for a dynamic, experienced professional to join the Awards Strategy and PR team working on campaigns for our original feature films.
The Role
Netflix is seeking a Manager of Film, Awards & Talent Relations to support PR and Strategy for Netflix's film awards titles. This role will work across the film studio's divisions including narrative features, international films, and animation. They will be responsible for managing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including filmmakers, talent, and Netflix cross-functional teams and partners. They have strong media and press relationships and will develop and pitch stories that bolster awards campaigns. This candidate has exceptional communication skills and is able to concept and implement highly effective ideas in a competitive landscape. They are adept at working with cross functional teams, including publicity, marketing, content, and product teams to move narratives forward, and pivot as needed. They have an understanding of the awards landscape, the ability to strategically develop narratives that serve publicity goals, and the ability to develop strong external press relationships.
This role will oversee campaigns across awards bodies, including the Academy Awards, Golden Globes, Annies, Critics' Choice Awards, and regional critics groups. The role will also support Netflix's music projects working across all of our Grammy campaigns. The candidate should be able to identify ways to heighten contenders profiles, strategize around needle-moving campaign opportunities and execute on niche market tactics. Strong candidates can handle multiple campaigns simultaneously, be an avid consumer of trade and industry news, and have a passion for film.
Qualifications
• Experience working on feature film campaigns - awards campaign experience is a plus
• Strong media relations expertise across U.S. consumer and awards press.
• Exemplary communication skills and experience working with cross-functional teams.
• Proven track record of press strategy, including but not limited to: developing excellent press relationships and pitching and placing high-impact stories.
• Experience in talent and partner relations and ability to effectively communicate strategy and ideas to filmmakers and talent reps.
• Comfortable taking initiative and working autonomously to move campaigns and ideas forward.
• Experience working with teams around the world, ideally working in deep partnership on campaigns and narratives for multiple markets around the world.
• Strong ability to prioritize a heavy workload and pivot as needed.
