The Social Manager, Anime role at Netflix is a blend of strategy and creative, responsible for launching social campaigns that get people so excited for Netflix anime titles that they sign up and watch.
From a strategy standpoint, the anime manager will need to understand the Japanese market, our broad Netflix business goals, and local social media behavior to find ways to win the word of mouth game in one of our most important growth markets. The successful candidate will display the curiosity to learn the Netflix business, understand our anime strategy, and make smart creative choices to land our titles in the zeitgeist.
Creatively, our goal on the marketing team is to build campaigns that drive earned media and social conversation. The social leader will manage agencies, develop creative, and work with producers and talent to execute a creative vision. He or she will need to have impeccable taste, vision for how to stand out from the competition, and a strong instinct for ideas that will get consumers talking. In addition to building campaigns, the successful manager will be a thought-partner to our content, publicity, and marketing teams, and build strong relationships with our production partners to enable creative innovation.
The right hire will bring a deep knowledge of the social media landscape, including a strong understanding not only of their features and technology, but of the new consumer behaviors emerging everyday. We work in a fast-moving environment like a newsroom, constantly mining conversation for insights and ideas, and shaping how consumers and media think about us.
The manager will have 7 years of experience with some combination of consumer brand, media, entertainment, and agency work in marketing and communications.
