The Opportunity
We are looking for a talented Public Relations professional based in Alphaville with a strong understanding of the media landscape in Latin America, specifically focusing on Argentina, Chile & Peru. The Role
The Corporate Communications will be a member of a small and seasoned group that is focused in formulating, executing and sustaining media strategy for Netflix in Latin America. The Corporate Communications function is viewed by Netflix senior management as strategically critical to building on the company's established success and reinforcing its reputation in a fast-changing, complex and competitive global media landscape. We tell our product, financial, innovation, and culture stories and engage consumer audiences on issues they care about, while working closely with other publicity and marketing groups to infuse these stories within their efforts.
The Manager will manage and support an agency partner network in promoting the brand as the best destination for entertainment, how we fit into people's lives through content, our technology and our overall service. This person will serve as the expert on the regions they manage, able to convey cultural needs and nuances that contribute to our global narrative.
This individual will help build and reinforce the Netflix brand and its service around the world, focusing on technology and a wide range of business issues. They will manage product announcements and direct thought leadership around Netflix technology, culture and business matters, all in close collaboration with the Director, Corporate Communications and other communications, publicity, marketing and policy colleagues around the world.
Strong candidates are good collaborators, clear communicators, and can handle a high volume of work. They are curious and ask questions, and also contribute effectively outside of their specialty. Successful candidates will have a candid and direct communication style, be willing to admit their mistakes quickly and question values inconsistent with Netflix values and culture. They understand that sometimes the job requires delivering bad news, and they're tactful in handling such issues.
In addition, the Manager must:
• Have experience working on global teams and managing global PR campaigns.
• Love brands, appreciate a good brief and understand what to do with a genuine insight.
• Understand how to build and maintain relationships with key journalists and different kinds of influencers on behalf of Netflix.
• Excellence in Project Management. – understands what does it take to build a project, campaign or initiative starting with strategy, through execution and overseeing the recording of results
• Be capable as serving as a company spokesperson in different cultural and media milieus.
• Be confident and creative in their writing, capable of crafting everything from executive messaging to experience at using various tools to deliver a message being videos or animation.
• Really loves entertainment...being a TV, movie or Netflix junkie is even better
• Speak fluent Spanish (native speaker) with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Be able to function autonomously and effectively as part of a loosely coupled, but highly-aligned team.
• Be deeply familiar with, and enthusiastically curious about, technology, entertainment, intellectual property, privacy, and other Web issues
• Be an entrepreneurial self-starter who comes up with new approaches and is eager to try those out.
• Understands the importance of accurate budgeting and reporting
Qualifications
The successful candidate for the Corporate Communications/ Media Relations role will likely possess 10 years in corporate or agency settings. Of particular interest are candidates with Broad knowledge of TV, entertainment, pop culture & lifestyle trends, etc. in general and Latin America.
To succeed at Netflix, the candidate must also possess the following characteristics:

Demonstrated ability to think innovatively-connecting the dots when others cannot. Able to make the leap from information to insight. Able to identify, nurture and help refine compelling creative ideas and concepts.
Succinct Communicator
Great writer and talker. Can organize, summarize, clarify and communicate ideas simply, succinctly and accurately. Has a quick intelligence, is fast on the feet and quickly responds to issues and questions. Doesn't need to ''check with the agency'' on every issue or for every answer. Says it like it is; not wrapped in political niceties.
Pragmatic, Organized and Detailed
Has a big capacity to both think and 'do'. Flourishes in a 'hands on' role, adding value at different levels. Is strong on detail and highly organized.
A smart minimalist
Keeps things simple. Knows that global communications can be made complex---and will resist and prevent that.
Does not need or desire big budgets for big results.
Believes one great person on the team is more valuable than 3 to 5 OK people---and wants to be that great person.
Has a Point of View
An independent thinker willing and able to express and support a point of view.
Pace
Moves at a nice clip and enjoys having multiple projects going at once. Can change course, be scrappy and get things done on short timeframes.
Languages
Ability to speak/write in Spanish & English is essential; Portuguese is a plus

Is a mature, fully-formed adult with a happy, well balanced life. Is motivated by what is best for Netflix.
