As content created within the region of EMEA continues to grow exponentially, so does the need to have a senior-level executive within the Amsterdam office partnering with other Netflix executives to inform and guide the successful creation of VFX for International Originals in Europe, The Middle East, and Africa.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, proactive, quick-thinking, flexible, able to pivot when necessary, thorough and able to juggle multiple and diverse responsibilities with a strong emphasis on organization and unwavering attention to detail at all times. This is a demanding and fast-moving position that requires someone who is a proactive and positive thinker, and able to exercise good judgment and initiative.
This candidate should have extensive knowledge of EMEA vendors and the ability to communicate effectively with teams cross-functionally as we build out with local talent and local strategies to cater for real-time solutions with often very dynamic and culturally specific scenarios. Creating impactful workflows to help bring visibility to each production in terms of VFX is critical and hence a technical awareness and affinity with both VFX Facility and VFX production processes is paramount.
This role would report into the Director of VFX Production and would maintain a strong partnership with the VFX team in Los Angeles to ensure consistency across the VFX department.
Core Responsibilities:
• Define and lead the medium to long term strategy for execution of VFX on all Netflix EMEA International Originals.
• Help create a global network of vetted and approved partner VFX production facilities
• Contribute toward the implementation of a cloud-based platform for managing global VFX
• Help define best practices (in partnership with other IO regions), standards and production reporting templates for globally distributed VFX production
• Review VFX bids and schedules and assist with sourcing vendors and negotiations
• Maintain alignment across cross-functional teams (Creative, legal, physical production and post-production) within EMEA and globally
• Work with our production partners to forge strong relationships and produce successful outcomes
Requirements:
• 12 years experience in VFX as Producer or Supervisor, both on the vendor's side and directly for studio and productions. A proven ability to lead teams.
• Repeated success creating cross-functional workflow and processes that create visibility for multiple POV's
• An excellent communicator who is highly diplomatic in stressful and complex situations
• An innovator and strategic thinker who has a real passion for VFX.
• Curious about collecting data to help set business goals and best practices.
• Hands-on experience managing cross-functional teams in volatile and time-sensitive situations
• Demonstrated success with engineering teams either for VFX pipeline or VFX prod management tools
• This role is based in Amsterdam but will require travel to all regions of EMEA
• Candidate needs to have high fluency in English with other languages a plus.
