Netflix's Labor Relations team seeks a coordinator to provide support to the team as it grows in functionality and responsibilities, and specifically to help manage/facilitate the court approval of child performer contracts. The successful candidate will have prior experience in a business affairs, legal, production, and or labor-relations setting, and will be self-motivated, highly organized, quick-thinking, and demonstrate an exception level of attention to detail. This role will report to Senior Counsel, Labor Relations.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Work with Labor Relations team and production HR on the tracking and monitoring of minor appearances and uses on productions
• Provide information and tools to productions on which minors appear and/or are engaged
• Create, update, and maintain databases on applicable federal, state, and international child labor and child performer laws
• Create, update, and maintain databases for required employer and child performer permits, and other required submissions to governing agencies
• Coordinate with business and production legal teams on court approval of child performer agreements
• Gather and assemble production data and necessary documents for the preparation and filing of petitions for court approvals of child performer agreements
• Prepare and assist in preparation of required court pleadings
• Facilitate and help manage court approval process, including tracking and monitoring of document signatures, filing of pleadings, and necessary hearings
• Create and maintain status logs of court approvals
• Attend cross-functional production sync meetings
• Support and assist Labor Relations team on other projects, priorities, and production matters
• Support and assist other team members and attorneys across multiple functions within legal team
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
• The successful candidate will be an attorney with 3 years experience or a paralegal with 5 years experience
• Experience in a business affairs, legal, production, and or labor-relations setting
• Precision to detail
• Exceptional level of organization and accuracy
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated and strong ability to work proactively and independently
• Desire and willingness to take ownership and control of projects
• Positive attitude and good judgment
