The Role
We are looking for a talented and senior corporate communications expert with a strong understanding of and relationships with business, technology and news media. The Corporate Communications Manager, India, will be based in our expanding Mumbai office and will be a member of a group of professionals helping to shape and tell the story of Netflix as a company and the technology that underpins our content. He/she will help shape Netflix's corporate storytelling in India, bringing to life how Netflix is investing directly in local original content, as well as being a significant exporter of content from India as we expand our significant investments in India, with original series ranging from Sacred Games to Selection Day, films such as Love Per Square Foot and licensed content on our service. We also have partnerships with India-based telecoms and media companies and an ongoing focus on our growth. This individual will also play a role in helping build and protect the Netflix reputation and brand throughout India.
Reporting to the Director, Corporate Communications, India, the role has strong cross-functional interaction with the broader team, with a high level of visibility and impact within the business. This individual will be a key partner to the India Consumer PR and Publicity teams as well the PR teams based in Singapore and other locations.
The Corporate Communications Manager, India, should possess at least 10 years of experience in both corporate and agency settings and preferably have a background in the entertainment and/or media sector and crisis and issues management. The successful individual will be used to working in a fast-paced environment that requires agility, selflessness and the ability to manage multiple things at once.
The Manager should have:
• 10 years experience in media, in both corporate and agency settings, in the entertainment and/or media sector including a background in crisis and issues management
• know technology, entertainment and Indian regulatory and competitive issues affecting the media sector. be capable and confident to serve as a company spokesperson and have strong business acumen;
• have in-depth experience of the Indian media landscape, have - or be capable of - quickly establishing trusted relationships with business, media and technology sector media, news media and entertainment trade press, and a deep understanding of the nuances of newsrooms;
• have a global mindset, ideally with experience of working in multiple countries and/or in multicultural environments;
• be able to work cross-functionally and build relationships inside and outside the organisation;
• be an entrepreneurial self-starter who comes up with new approaches and is eager to try those out; and
• have a passion for entertainment and how that relates to Indian consumers.
The role will require frequent travel to Singapore and periodic travel to other international locations.
