Netflix is seeking an experienced coordinator to work on a variety of matters related to production policy. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with the physical production team and government officials to problem-solve location-based challenges and permitting issues, as well as be responsible for maintaining systems for tracking production policy related information. Further responsibilities include:
• Liaise with Consul Generals, Economic Investment Agencies, city council/state legislative bodies, or state/provincial governmental agencies to tackle high-level production escalations, permitting issues, production clearances, and assist in developing and promoting film-friendly policies
• Further develop and maintain external relationships with government officials, as well as work to obtain workforce development objectives, and legislative/regulatory solutions.
• Monitor movement on policies, legislation and regulations at state and international levels, making recommendations as necessary
• Research and respond to day-to-day inquiries that arise from lines of business regarding film/television production incentive programs
• Serve as bridge between productions and internal Netflix teams to ensure both sides receive pertinent updates in a timely manner.
• Maintain, update, champion the use of our internal systems to track engagements with government officials.
• Conduct legal and territory-specific research.
• Research changing skills policies, best practices, providing guidance internally and externally regarding outcome-based workforce development strategies and options.
• Perform administrative duties as necessary to support the public policy department.

Requirements
• At least 3 years of related government experience and well-established relationships with consulates, government officials, and international film commissions, and/or 5 years of entertainment industry experience
• Familiarity with the international film and television landscape and film-friendly policies, as well as comfort with international business and cultures
• Familiarity with production and post-production processes (on-set experience is a plus), the roles of the people that work in these fields, and the desire to continue learning about new production technology
• Proven track record of improving team organization and efficiency
• Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
• Proficiency with Google Suite
The successful candidate will also possess the following:
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• A solution-oriented mindset; strong organizational and project management skills, allowing many projects to keep moving simultaneously
• Ability to work proactively, independently, and discreetly under tight schedules, across time zones and in multiple locations (responding after hours for important, timely or urgent manners)
• Willingness to contribute effectively and transparently; adapting and embracing change with enthusiasm
