Our teams are always seeking insights and findings to understand behavior and leverage data that drive innovations which push an experience beyond what's expected. You see these innovations throughout the product ecosystem on the web from content delivery to content discovery, from search to stream, and all integrated with over 1000 internet-connected devices.
Today, we are looking for a talented communications expert to join our APAC Corporate Communications team to champion the Asia consumer by building the product communications strategy in this fast-growing region. The successful candidate will turn complex topics into easily-understood overviews and understand how to relate a product feature into the consumer journey. She/he will collaborate with cross-functional partners to create narratives, messaging, collateral and product promotion campaigns that appeal to media, influencers and members.
This role reports to the VP of Corporate Communications for APAC. The person who fills this position must have a passion for both written and visual communications, is a project manager and is able to work on a broad range of topics. She/he will work closely with the Global Corporate Communications team, our researchers, engineers and designers to produce stories that educate, promote adoption of the Netflix service and ultimately grow brand love.
Responsibilities
• Develop compelling and integrated communication strategies and assets (e.g messaging, visual guides and collateral/assets to support feature updates/launches, educate media and influencers that serve the news industry, and where relevant, also serve our owned-channels that are managed by our Brand teams.
• Synthesize complex features into simple, powerful stories
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to activate proactive and reactive messages to mitigate risks and manage developing issues in relation to the product tests and launches.
• Stay abreast of industry and market trends
• Become an expert in and a champion of the Netflix product
• Provide strategic counsel to cross-functional partners and country teams in this area.
Qualifications
• 8 years of experience in marketing, communications, or product marketing communications
• Experience in influencing and collaborating across multiple teams
• Preference with tech media background or have come from a communications agency covering content strategy for tech companies.
• Experience working in or with news or online publishing
• Project management skills, analytical and problem-solving experience
• Experience with web and mobile technologies and the news landscape internationally with specific focus on Asia.
To ensure effectiveness, this role would travel regularly to the US to spend time with the global team members.
