The Role
The Production Finance Associate will be part of our International Originals team based in the Madrid office. This role will support Production Finance Managers and cross-functional teams protecting company financial exposure through production oversight and controls.
The Responsibilities:
• Work effectively and decisively within the Netflix International Originals team to coordinate with third party production companies who are producing local content for Netflix
• Analyzing and reviewing Cost Reports and Budgets for tracking and defining variance, throughout the life-cycle of a production
• Onboard 3rd party Production Companies' accounting teams
• Ensure the implementation of Spanish laws and financial regulation with the 3rd Party Production Companies.
• Update production finance information in Netflix systems, including:
• Tracking and Processing production fundings
• Tracking Talent contract and payments
• Help the 3rd party Production Companies Map their Chart of Accounts to Netflix's Chart of Accounts.
• Liaise with Cross Functional Team members and other Regional Offices.
• Be an integral part in the research and development of new technologies and software, that will influence the next generation of production finance tools.
• Ad hoc projects as needed
Experience:
• Candidates must have 2-3 years of accounting/finance experience within the Entertainment business.
• Candidates must thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment. Must display a high level of intellectual curiosity with a focus on generating results
• Must exhibit the highest personal and professional standards of integrity and ethics
• Must be self-motivated, disciplined, highly organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks
• High aptitude and enthusiasm for complex problem solving and analysis utilizing financial applications
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Excel and proven experience with various software applications
• Knowledge in production accounting/financial systems
• College degree in accounting or finance is preferred
• Fluency in English and Spanish required - both written and spoken.
• Experience in Big 4 preferred
