NBCUniversal is looking for a senior attorney to join its Content & Production Risk (''CPR'') team. The CPR team is part of NBCU Corporate Legal, and acts as a cross-functional resource for all domestic TV and digital studios and exhibitors on complex, high-risk, and novel matters relating to content, physical production, and marketing of scripted and unscripted projects. We also partner with lawyers within the businesses to directly handle tasks including production agreements, clearances, minor court approvals, reality participant diligence, and marketing and promotions matters and agreements. In addition, we help to develop and implement best practices within our areas of expertise.
The Vice President, Content & Production Risk will lead the team of professionals handling production agreements and clearances, and be responsible for advising other lawyers and clients on issues relating to defamation, privacy, intellectual property, contracts, rules relating to minor performers and show participants, and other issues relating to the production and content of scripted and unscripted programming.
Specific Responsibilities
Identify, analyze, and tee up practical, responsive solutions on issues relating to projects in development and production.
Partner with colleagues in the Law Department to best coordinate, prioritize and streamline legal support.
Work with the CPR team and others in the Law Department on major projects with long-term business implications.
Identify and implement improvements to forms and processes.
Partner with lawyers within the TV & digital businesses to develop and implement best practices.
Supervise certain other members of the CPR department.
Other matters as needed.
Qualifications/Requirements :
Qualifications:
Member of California bar or other U.S. state bar
JD or LLM Degree from an accredited law school
A minimum of 10 years of legal experience in a law firm or in-house legal department handling entertainment, media law, intellectual property, and/or other relevant experience
