THIS POSTION IS FOR A FULL-TIME 1 YEAR CONTRACT
As a Global Media Technician, you will be responsible for Quality Controlling all aspects of NBCUniversal Library Content. Technicians should have a good understanding and knowledge of different digital file formats, codecs and the tools needed to quickly and accurately review content. The Technicians will need to be able to clearly and effectively communicate with other departments in the Media Operations team. This role requires focus and determination to QC all assets properly and in a timely manner, keeping in line with our focus on 99.999% reliability and availability.
• Perform Quality Control checks for feature & episodic assets
• Ensure content is at highest quality and to the correct spec
• Ensure all Language, Subtitle and Captioning files are in sync with video assets
• Review and validate all metadata associated with video assets
• Transcode assets using hot folders to correct issues or to align content to house spec
• Using the internal workflows tools to track and deliver content
• Comprehensively track and manage a queue of work
Qualifications/Requirements
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in either a broadcast operations or post-production environment
• A minimum of 1 years of experience on with Quality Control
• A minimum of 1 year of experience of all Microsoft Office applications (including Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Must be willing to work in Los Angeles, CA
• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the US
• Must be 18 years or older
Desired Characteristics
• An individual with a very strong desire to learn, take on new technologies and challenges, & teach others
• Experience working in a team environment
• Experience working with Closed Captions in MacCaption
• Familiarity with digital media file types -Quicktime, MXF, MPEG, Mp4 etc.
• Knowledge of various digital delivery methods, i.e. Signiant and Aspera
• Able to multi-task and make effective decisions in a high pressure deadline driven environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to interface with multiple departments, clients, and vendors
• Experience with transcode systems, especially Vantage
• Impeccable attention to detail
