Freelance Assistant Programming Editor

PURPOSE:

NBCUniversal is looking for a freelance Assistant Programming Editor for its International Network group. This position will edit program material utilizing a computerized editing system and other peripheral equipment. This will be a long-term freelance position. The shift for this position will be from Wednesday - Sunday.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Reversion Edit all programs to fit International Standards.
• Edit with multiple foreign language audio.
• Ensure program meets broadcast technical specifications.
• Complete work orders to track what was edited in the bay.
• Create and maintain EDLs, Projects, or other documentation as needed.
• Report problems to Operations group and Engineering.
• Keep current on workflow and technical procedures.
• Night shift required.
• May be required to work days and weekends on occasion.
• Complete other post production-related tasks as assigned
• Other editing assignments as required

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Minimum one year experience editing broadcast-level productions in a non-linear environment [AVID experience preferred].
• Ability to execute and render effects, and finish in high resolution, including HD.
• Ability to fully operate Digital Beta and HD Cam decks and waveform monitors/vectorscopes.
• Knowledge of system patching and routing.
• Ability to edit under tight deadlines.
• Ability to work in ProTools a plus.
• Must communicate well and have excellent working relationship with clients.
• Must be able to work Wednesday through Sunday.
