Responsibilities
Role Purpose
NBCU Global Legal Operations & Innovation is responsible for improving and maintaining the global legal function's delivery of effective and efficient legal services. Our responsibilities include managing legal spend (including spend analytics), contract lifecycle management, knowledge management, legal technology, outside counsel management, professional learning and development, and increasing overall operational effectiveness. Our team is implementing a contract lifecycle management system (CLM) across our enterprise and we are seeking a talented and motivated manager to join this effort. You will collaborate with Global Legal Operations & Innovation, Operations & Technology, and members of legal groups from across all NBCU businesses to optimize our forms and processes and implement a CLM that will ensure NBCU has the most complete, accurate, and up-to-date contract information.
Responsibilities
The CLM Operations and Engagement Manager will be responsible for facilitating NBCU legal groups through all stages of the CLM onboarding process, from pre-implementation discovery through post-launch support of the system. Additionally, this role will be responsible for long-term legal support efforts over the life of the CLM, including responding to contract-related support requests, collecting user feedback and metrics, and identifying areas of concern and potential system enhancement needs. The CLM Operations and Engagement Manager will serve as the primary contact for legal groups as they implement the CLM, leading all legal group communications, reviewing and analyzing contract forms and processes, and identifying key questions, issues, and best practices for the project team to address. Specifically, the CLM Operations and Engagement Manager's responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Legal Group CLM Readiness:
• Lead pre-implementation contact and initial discovery efforts with upcoming legal businesses and document contract processes;
• Create, maintain, and distribute CLM onboarding resources and communication/marketing materials, updating on an ongoing basis from project learnings; and
• Assist legal business units in agreement inventory and template preparation and validation process, highlighting and resolving potential configuration questions or concerns as needed.
Implementation and General Project Administration:
• Lead communication efforts with Legal business units throughout implementation:
• Advise on project deadlines and requirements,
• Facilitate system and template testing
• Coordinate legacy contract migration, and
• Gather legal group feedback, and address concerns;
• Liaise between project team, vendor, and legal groups to surface issues;
• Document frequently asked questions and best practices to promote to project team and improve CLM onboarding materials;
• Help facilitate process changes with legal business units as needed; and
• Develop and administer CLM system and admin training to legal users.
Post-Launch Legal Support:
• Serve as primary CLM contact for legal business units post-launch;
• Triage and address user requests and questions;
• Collect feedback and metrics on CLM usage and project team performance and promote awareness of issues where relevant; and
• Work with project team to plan future system needs based on feedback.
Qualifications
/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
• Significant contract management and/or entertainment industry experience required
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; JD preferred
• Experience working with contracting, workflow, and/or matter management systems preferred, including API integrations and conditional logic
• Proficiency with O365 suite, including MS Teams & SharePoint
• Proven leadership skills demonstrating strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Experience managing stakeholder relationships, including anticipating stakeholder needs, and developing and discussing potential solutions
• Ability to initiate open and candid coaching conversations at all levels
• Ability to present complex information in an accurate and persuasive manner to all levels of leadership
• Excellent written and oral communication skills including delivering presentations to report on your findings
