Responsibilities

We've got a lot to do.
The PA will help to support associate producers, producers and senior producers within the NBC News Custom Production Unit with video, graphics, writing, packaging of editorial content, production planning and some administrative work. The PA must also be able to quickly pull elements, adapt to partner demands, understand editorial priorities and be willing to learn and grow.
The bulk of the job:
• Work closely with Senior Manager, Producers and Associate Producers by assisting them to pull elements, research, write and fact check strong editorial content with the ability to integrate a sponsor
• Assist in organizing logistics for production needs, including location, props, travel, etc.
• Coordinate and schedule meetings and logistics for team as requested
• Pitch smart and engaging stories for daily broadcast and future segments that will resonate with our audience
• Maintain awareness of programming schedules and editorial priorities
• Help and assist by coordinating media coverage and logistics during news events and sponsorship activations.
• Mine and edit on AVID the best video and sound for assigned stories
Qualifications
/Requirements
• Minimum of 1 year working in broadcast, digital or cable,
including internships
• Bachelor's degree in journalism, media, communications,
and other related degrees
• You are willing to work in New York, New York and able
to travel when needed for work
Desired Characteristics
• You've got big ideas and want to develop the journalistic
writing and research skills to bring them to life
• You've got an interest in current events, U.S. politics, and
pop culture
• You understand the business function of a news
organization while striving to maintain editorial integrity
and uphold journalistic standards.
• You're familiar with search and edit functionality on AVID
desktop systems
• When the news cycle calls you answer, even on
weekends or late nights or after you've already put in a
long day
• You are eager to grow and are willing to learn about our
ever-changing business
