Full Time Paid Internship
Responsibilities
The Universal Studios Hollywood theme park is looking for a high potential Business/Finance student with strong interest to work in the themed entertainment industry and theme parks in particular. The specific role will be located at the theme park, likely in one of the operating groups such as Theme Park or CityWalk Operations, Retail, Food, Entertainment, Technical Services, or Workforce Planning.
The internship will last approximately 12 weeks and each intern will complete a pre-assigned and clearly defined finance work project which will allow him or her to make a meaningful contribution to the business. Project scope will include elements of Financial/Business analysis, financial reporting and creation of other financial capability.
• Each project will have a tangible deliverable with presentations/reviews throughout the process
• Scope will include tactical work as well as strategic analysis, including cost optimization, financial reporting and financial analysis
• Intern will work with non-finance business partners in order to successfully complete their projects
• Interns will gain broad exposure to all elements of the theme park from an operational and financial perspective
• Interns will learn about our business by participating in development workshops, attending team and 1:1 meetings, and having in-park walks/experiences
• The internship position will provide basic exposure to Comcast/NBCU business and Finance career opportunities
• Each intern will be connected with potential mentor(s) in our business
Qualifications
/Requirements
• In pursuit of a Bachelors or graduate degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field and able to provide proof of current enrollment
• Class standing of junior or above
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above, 3.4 or higher preferred
• Demonstrated leadership potential at work, school, community or in other venues
• Strong computer skills including Excel and PowerPoint, ideally with prior exposure to accounting software (SAP)
• Previous internship in Business, ideally in a Financial field
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without a visa or sponsorship
• Must be able to work on-site in Universal City, CA
Desired Characteristics
• Knowledge of and desire to work in a themed entertainment environment
• Strong problem solving ability
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments and levels
• Previous work experience in an office environment
