Part Time Paid Internship
Responsibilities

Critical analysis and keen insight are key to becoming a Research Intern. You have to not only ''get'' numbers, but apply them to tell a story. There are two areas we are looking for Research Interns in for 2019: New Media Insights and Research within Global or EMEA. As an Intern, you will be supporting a fast-paced team to deliver valuable research and insights whilst developing your own skills. You will have the opportunity to make valuable contributions to your department and build your knowledge in order to pursue a career in Research. The role would suit individuals that are passionate about television and media, with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and writing ability.
Qualifications
/Requirements
Exact responsibilities will vary slightly between each division and team, however the main responsibilities of any Research Intern will typically include:
Research (Global/EMEA)
- Create regular reporting on channel and content performance
- Conduct ad hoc analyses on channel and content performance
- Track and analyse subscription service viewership (e.g. Netflix, Amazon & hayu).
- Conduct analysis of digital purchase and rental sales (e.g. iTunes, Sky Store)
- Produce materials to support programme licensing
- Monitor and communicate market trends
- Ensure quality of information in various reporting systems
- Liaise with internal/external stakeholders
- Provide admin support to the team as required
- Contributing to ad-hoc projects and tasks
New Business Insights
- Assisting with daily database maintenance
- Ensuring quality of information in various reporting systems
- Maintaining new media reporting tools, working with external agencies where appropriate
- Collating various reports and updates for distribution as appropriate
- Monitoring and communicating market trends
- Liaising with internal/external stakeholders
- Researching international market opportunities
- Supporting maintenance of budgets and forecasts, and any other financial analyses required
- Creating PowerPoint slides to present market intelligence back to team
- Providing administrative support on various projects including preparing presentation materials, incorporating multi-media materials (video, music, web content etc.)
- Conducting research on competitors as necessary
- Contributing to ad-hoc projects and tasks
Education
& Qualifications
You will be studying or recently graduated with a degree-level or equivalent course, seeking a 12-month internship.
Essential
- A passion for Broadcasting and Media (particularly an interest in film and/or TV) with a desire to develop a career in Research
- Proactive and enthusiastic, with ability to work autonomously to deadlines, take initiative and keep calm under pressure
- Analytical with outstanding attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and ability to effectively prioritise and manage workload
- Self-starter and fast learner, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a busy team
- Strong office administration and IT skills; confident user of Microsoft Office
- Ability to work with confidential materials discreetly and responsibly
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Excellent communicator (both written and verbal) with strong interpersonal skills; confident in communication with senior management
- Willingness to learn and ''can-do'' attitude
Desirable
- For our New Business Insights Internship a basic knowledge of SQL and/or VBA could be advantageous and experience with Youtube analytics
- Previous work experience in a similar environment
