Responsibilities
The Director of Unscripted Talent and Casting will report to the SVP and Head of Unscripted Talent and Casting for NBC Universal's Entertainment Content for Networks, Streaming and the Syndication Studios. The role will manage unscripted talent aspects of NBCUniversal Television, Streaming & Syndication Studios.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with talent and their representatives, a deep comprehension of talent deals and negotiations, as well as build and maintain relationships with NBCU internal staff. Their understanding of the brands will allow them to strategically identify priority talent for NBCU Networks, Streaming and Syndication Studios.
Responsibilities
• Lead, support, & grow junior team members in unscripted talent efforts for the NBCU Entertainment Content group for NBCU networks, streaming and syndication studios
• Collaborate with the Head of Unscripted Talent on team OKRs and Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Relevant, Time-bound (SMART) individual KPIs
• Analyze talent metrics, market trends, research, and costs in order to drive optimal allocation of resources, data-informed decision making, developing department guidelines, and translating all the foregoing into actionable plans
• Target breakthrough talent and foster relationships with emerging talent
• Coalition building across a vast array of Comcast NBCU divisions to create cross-portfolio opportunities for all priority unscripted talent
• Partner with Creative Executives and Business Affairs on innovative approaches & structures for talent deals of all levels in a rapidly evolving media landscape
• Maintain talent relations across designated projects
• Inspire trust and motivate the department to improve performance quarter over quarter
• Develop best practices, tools, and strategies for a fast growing department
• Key point of contact between the talent & internal departments
• Attend a wide breadth of events to scout potential talent & partnerships
Qualifications
/Requirements
• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum 10 years in entertainment
• Experience negotiating talent deals
• Proficiency in Keynote and MS Office Suite
• Strong communication skills
• Previous experience at a network, studio, production company or talent booking company
• Comfortable and professional when working with talent
• Willing and able to attend casting and talent related events after hours and/or on weekends
• Travel required
