Part Time Unpaid Internship
Responsibilities
Human Resources Internships exist within the following business areas:
• Corporate Human Resources
• NBC Sports
• NBC Entertainment
Internships may include (but are not limited to):
• Talent & Organizational Development
• Campus Recruiting
• Executive Search
• HR Generalist
Daily responsibilities and projects may include (but are not limited to):
Talent & Organizational Development:
• Event planning coordination
• Fall on-campus recruitment
• Intern and Associate events
• Speaker sessions
• Super Day Interviews
• Intern case study logistics
• Social media content curation assistance (capturing footage at events: photos, videos, live)
• HR communications - Draft and oversee recruiting collateral design (website, flyers, swag, etc.), Write and edit internal emails to stakeholders and larger HR team; Assist with crafting power point decks for the various programs we manage
Campus Recruiting:
• Support the Campus team with internship program, from recruitment to developmental workshops, campus outreach, professional networking and career planning
• Act as a liaison between interns and the team
Executive Search:
• Learn about how in-house executive search works. Track and maintain executive moves in database. Shadow and eventually lead projects of their own
HR Generalist:
• Onboard and process I-9s for new hires
• Support special project(s) focused on employee engagement
• Assist with various pitch decks for HR programs and initiatives
• Assist the HR team in different areas to better understand the HR Generalist function
• Maintain HR Customer Service initiatives
Qualifications/Requirements
• In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress.
• Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits)
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without a visa or sponsorship
• Needs to be able to work on-site in New York, NY or Stamford, CT
• Internships at NBCUniversal are paid and do not require course credit
• Deadline: Interested applicants are encouraged to apply by November 2, 2018
• Spring Program Dates: January 14– May 10 2019.
Desired Characteristics
• Desired Backgrounds: Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Communications or related field
• Desired Characteristics: Business orientation and acumen, strong service orientation, strong interpersonal skills demonstrated when interacting with all professional levels, strong verbal and written communication skills. Approachable style, ability to connect with employees/clients and establish rapport, proven ability to work with confidential information, ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly ambitious environment; flexible and adaptable.
