JOB DESCRIPTION
Based at the National Geographic Society headquarters in Washington, D.C., the National Geographic Channel is a joint venture between National Geographic and Fox Cable Networks. The Channel contributes to the National Geographic Society's commitment to exploration, conservation and education with smart, innovative programming and profits that directly support its mission
The Global Production Services department is seeking an intern to be part of our development and production process. Candidates should enjoy non-scripted programming, excel at research, and be detail oriented and comfortable working under tight deadlines. A self- starter, the candidate will be proactive with their time, looking at future due-dates and helping meet production needs. Our intern will support the Associate Producers, Producers, and Senior Producers with multiple day-to-day and long-term tasks.
• Coordinating development efforts with the department and researching future projects
• Archiving and organizing completed deliverables for Producers
• Assisting Producers during edits & narration records
• Helping with database maintenance
• Reviewing programs
• Must be a sophomore, junior, or senior undergraduate student
• Pursuing a degree in Communications, Journalism, Film, Marketing, English or other related field(s) is a plus
• Ability to work under strict deadlines, with a strong work ethic and an eye for detail
• Keen organizational skills and a good communication skills
• Knowledge of Adobe Premiere is a plus
To participate in Fox's Internship program you must meet the following criteria:
• Applicants must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited university and be sophomore status or above
• Be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship by the Company.
• All students must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship.
