The Nat Geo Media Digital Ecosystem Team is responsible for the distribution and amplification of National Geographics award-winning digital and social content around the world.
Working in close collaboration with Marketing and Technology, this team oversees Nat Geo's websites, apps, and social media channels. It delivers digital products, experiences, and social content that inspire, inform and engage consumers through exceptional digital storytelling.
The Digital Ecosystem Team's objectives are to support NG Media's five-year plan to pivot to a digital-first organization and publisher. We have clear KPIs - grow our addressable audience, grow our subscriber base, and increase profitability - that we support by providing an experience that streamlines the path from strangers to friends, friends to subscribers, and subscribers into fans.
The Sr Manager for Digital Experiences is the business owner for all Nat Geo's owned and operated digital consumer touchpoints worldwide. This role will oversee the global execution of our business strategy to drive the acquisition, engagement, and retention of our customers across multiple teams.
Responsibilities:
This person will report to the VP of Digital Ecosystem, but its responsibilities expand to support the entire NG Media team, including our Editorial team. The person's major focus will be:
• Lead the strategy and execution of the technology priorities and roadmap for all National Geographic digital consumer touchpoints worldwide.
• Work with Marketing, Editorial, and Technology teams to identify and drive National Geographic to the forefront of digital storytelling among its competitors.
• Identify new consumer segments, develop, launch and manage new products that can drive recurring revenue relationships with consumer currently not interested in National Geographic.
• Improve the user experience journey to drive unknown users to known user and into subscribers.
• Lead a team of direct reports responsible for the business management of existing products, new products, and subscriber experience.
• Work in very close collaboration with the DMED Technology team to set the business vision, prioritize our business requirements, and oversee the timely execution of our technology needs.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in digital marketing
• Track record of collaborating with a large and varied group of cross-functional teams and partners to tackle ambiguous problems and make forward progress.
• Candidate must demonstrate strong working knowledge on consumer experience management.
• Obsession with developing customer-centered solutions.
• Proven track record of presenting to and influencing senior management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead by influence multiple, complex teams spread across the organization.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels of an organization with the ability to present complex data, influence others, and build relationships.
