Reports To: Associate Director, Production
Job Overview: National Geographic is looking for an organized, energetic, flexible Production Specialist to assist in the NG Kids YouTube Digital initiative. Production Specialist will work closely with the NG Kids Team. This position is a six-month temporary position.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Manage all schedule changes and deliverable requirements for assigned programs with NGS and Third-Party production companies on behalf of National Geographic Channels.
• Generate tailored contractual documents for each program including Deliverables List and Milestone Schedule. Provide every production company paper deliverable templates used during each phase of the production.
• Track all deliverables and production schedules in the Network database system, including but not limited to, rough and fine cuts for assigned Executive Producers. Update database systems with pertinent program information for various departmental reports such as Programming and Operations.
• Workload will consist of up to 125 assets of programming per Production Manager/Production Specialist team working with up to 10-15 production companies worldwide.
• Support Vice Presidents, Executive Producers and Development Managers in all aspects of pre-production, production and post-production for all programming as needed.
• Assist Production Managers and Executive Producers with ensuring the delivery of quality materials and that all milestones are met for each production.
• Communicate effectively and timely with Production Companies and notify all key internal departments of status changes for all programs assigned especially Programming, Operations, Research and S&P.
• Act as a constant point of contact for production companies such as answering day to day questions and guiding them through required deliverables. Ensure the timely delivery and distribution of materials to each department so they can begin their workflow to prep the show(s) for air or to promote the show(s).
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with production companies to ensure National Geographic Channel(s) deadlines are met.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 1-3 Years' experience in TV/Production preferred.
• Extreme attention to detail required.
