JOB DESCRIPTION
The Manager is responsible for the global execution, tracking and reporting of non-organic social media campaigns, including sponsored and internal promotional campaigns.
The Manager of Audience Development is the key player in the execution of Nat Geo's sponsored social media campaigns (the largest digital revenue source at NG Media) and internal/partner social media campaigns. This role must be an expert in paid and organic social strategy because of the editorial nature of Nat Geo's social media accounts. It is a global, fast paced role with tight client deadlines on a daily and weekly basis.
This role will lead the Paid Social & Priorities team, driving social campaign strategy across National Geographic's audience channels from pre-sale through post-sale and reporting. The Senior Manager will work closely with Nat Geo Sales and Marketing teams to inform on social strategy and optimize branded content campaigns, as well as high-priority campaigns for internal partnerships and companywide initiatives.
• Directly manages and supports the Paid Social and Priorities Team, including the Producer and Associate Producer of Audience Development.
• Provides social approval and feedback on pre-sale pitches and proactive packaging for sponsored and branded campaigns.
• Maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders (Sales, Digital, Marketing) to build and execute strategies for branded content campaigns and internal priorities.
• Identify new social platforms as potential revenue streams and collaborate with Ad Sales to include in campaigns for monetization.
• Maintains and develops external relationships with third party social platform and agency representatives, including regular communication for platform updates and campaign optimization techniques.
Minimum Requirements:
• Minimum 7 years experience in social media management
• Strong leadership skills
• Foundational knowledge of paid social and organic social campaigns
• Detail-oriented
• Ability to manage a breadth of responsibilities across multiple teams
• Strong communication skills
• Strong organization skills
• Ability to multitask and juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Fluent in English
• Strong writing and copy-editing skills
Preferred:
• Foundational knowledge of video and photography use on social platforms a plus
