The Legal Liaison, Travel, will work with the NGP Legal team and the NGE Trip Development, Operations, and Lodges teams to own the contract negotiation and renewals process with Destination Management Companies (DMCs), independent contractors (experts, expedition leaders, and adventure guides), and Unique Lodges in support of NG Expeditions. Working with our Talent and Operations teams, the Legal Liaison will manage the background check process for trip staff; and working with Guest Relations and Program Management teams, and will liaise with NGP Legal to resolve guest issues. The Legal Liaison will support the Senior Director on various other Legal projects.
Responsibilities:
* DMC Contracts: Manage the contracting process with DMCs. Draft new Master Service Agreements (MSAs), and guide Trip Development and Operations team members in the creation of Statements of Work (SOWs). Serve as a liaison and resource among colleagues, DMCs, and NGP Legal during the contract negotiation. Maintain an overview of contract terms and initiate the renewal process.
* Independent Contractor Contracts: Manage the contracting process with Independent Contractors (trip staff). Draft new MSAs, and guide Operations team members in the creation of SOWs. Serve as a liaison and resource among colleagues, trip staff members, and NGP Legal during the contract negotiation. Maintain an overview of contract terms and initiate the renewal process.
* Lodges Contracts: Manage the contracting process with our Unique Lodges. Draft new MSAs, and guide Lodges team members in the creation of SOWs. Serve as a liaison and resource among colleagues, Lodges, and NGP Legal during the contract negotiation. Maintain an overview of contract terms and initiate the renewal process.
* Background Checks: Manage the background check process for trip staff (experts, expedition leaders, and adventure guides) for both owned-and-operated and partner-operated trips. Serve as a liaison among Talent and Operations colleagues, trip staff, NGP Legal, and background check vendor to obtain approvals. Maintain an overview of individual background check expiration and initiate the renewal process.
* Litigation and Guest Issues: Serve as the liaison between the Guest Relations/Program Management teams and NGP Legal to resolve guest legal issues. Prepare compensation releases.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree.
* Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) proficiency is required. Quickbase experience preferred.
* At least 3-5 years of experience supporting legal initiatives, including contracting.
* Ability to multi-task and successfully manage a myriad of projects simultaneously.
* Requires demonstrated attention to detail, effective collaboration skills, and ability to meet deadlines and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
* Demonstrated interest in travel and exploration and an appreciation for cultural awareness and exchange. Experience in the travel industry is highly preferred.
