Who we need
National Geographic Partners are looking for a Content Strategist to join Basecamp EMEA, the UK based global partnerships team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work as part of a busy, creative sales team across our portfolio of National Geographic digital and social platforms and with some of the most exciting brands in the world.

What you'll do
The Content Strategist (CS) holds a key role within NGP, responsible for developing brand content, generating multiple assets and will work across a wide range of brand partnerships, often several at one time to maximise revenue. These will range from large scale multi-media integrated partnerships to smaller commercial campaigns.
The key task of the CS will be to lead content development together with sales, brand, audience and marketplace insights and to pull together attractive, pitch-winning programmes in response to brief that are appropriate to the advertiser and the NG brand/audience whilst utilising the power of the NG brand and breadth of the network. The CS functions together with production management to ensure economic viability, scheduling and delivery. Working together with senior colleagues, the CS will also develop a suite of exciting, high value, sellable ideas and products that exploit new and upcoming network to proactively target new clients.
The CS is creatively-led and will exhibit the ability to see the big picture yet focus on essential detail of business/brand objectives. The CS will have confidence in their ideas, will be able to communicate them effectively and will endeavour to continually raise the creative bar. This individual should feel liberty to reach beyond the brief, to challenge objectives and utilise the whole platform toolkit where appropriate, they should also have the ability to translate the ideas into a compelling sales narrative. This is a role for a focussed, structured and creative individual who is used to working across genres and has experience with varied advertising sectors.
Responsibilities
Utilise NG platforms and products, draw on industry knowledge/trends and audience/marketplace/brand insights to create stand-out ideas and solutions for commercial clients that differentiate National Geographic in the market place and ultimately drive revenue.
Main responsibility
• Develop industry-leading creative ideas in response to briefs and proactive client pitches that can be amplified across NG Media platforms that include Print, Broadcast, Digital, Social, Events and Talent
• Ambition: To go beyond the brief, to look for opportunities to build mutually valuable, commercially viable, long-term relationships with partner-brands. To think big picture ideas first and execution second and to articulate a compelling sales narrative around proposals.
• To proactively seek out opportunities partnering together with sales leads and insights.
• To develop valuable intel and work in partnership with research to ensure brief responses and pitches are inspired by insights
• Understanding of the client's needs and objectives and ensuring these are fulfilled within the partnership framework
• Develop high quality pitch presentations in which ideas are articulated in a clear, logical and visual way, with client needs at the heart of the solution
• Develop a thorough working knowledge of National Geographic's media platforms, technologies and processes in order to exploit new greenlit properties and network initiatives for sales opportunities.
• Develop appropriate range of compelling and visually driven marketing materials, custom presentations that showcase the creative ideas integrated with National Geographic
• Operate as Basecamp ambassador by creating internal communications that champion good work, participate in 'show and tells' of both NGP work and work from the global creative community.
Qualifications
and Experience:
Significant working experience within the client solutions division, either in a content-led media organisation, a creative/production/content marketing agency or brand:
Key/mandatory
• A proven track record of delivering successful tailor-made branded content campaigns and projects as a creative/content lead and/or as senior production lead.
• Ability to create strong written and verbal rationales in response to brief or proactive pitches.
• Strength in idea generation for content across print, digital and TV media production including content creation for social media platforms
• Thorough knowledge of social platforms from a content strategy perspective
• Understanding of the cross-platform sales process and commercial projects in general
• Experience developing International content campaigns across a range of advertising sectors like Travel, Automotive, Tech and Finance
• Experience in packaging cross media solutions in a creative, impactful and compelling way. Complete fluency in PowerPoint is essential
• A high level of competency in all other Microsoft office applications is also required, for example Word, Excel, Outlook, Sway.
