Disney Publishing Worldwide develops original, award-winning Learning and Storytelling content for Disney, Marvel, Lucas and own-created brands, which fuels both DPEP and TWDC. It is considered the largest children's publishing brand in the world.
We are seeking an experienced Manager of Finance to lead the global financial planning and analysis function for the National Geographic Books business. This Finance Manager will be the Finance lead and key business partner supporting the business across key planning cycles: Annual Operating Plan, Long-term Strategic Plan, Monthly Forecasts and Quarter Close.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and lead the financial planning & analysis deliverables across key cycles to include monthly forecast, Annual Operating Plan and Long Term Plan for the National Geographic Books business
• Support the business partners on the financial deliverables and consolidation across key cycles, including preparation of presentation to Disney Publishing Worldwide and Disney Segment Executive teams
• Be the key liaison in ensuring the financial deliverables to Disney Publishing Global teams and business partners are accurate and timely
• Review title Profit & Loss analysis in support of greenlighting process
• Perform ad-hoc analytics to support business growth strategies
• Drive efficiency through process improvements, including constant update, revision and creation of financial models and templates
• Build key relationships across lines of business to coordinate best practice sharing
• Lead a Senior Financial Analyst
Basic Qualifications:
• 5+ years of Financial, Planning & Analysis work experience; MBA a plus
• Demonstrated strong organizational skills with attention to detail and deliverable timeline
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills (technical skills as well as big picture)
• Advance proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; prior experience with COGNOS and SAP preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Understanding of balance sheet, income statement and cash flow drivers
• Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and prioritize work with tight deadlines
• Dynamic individual who excels in a team environment and who will act as a change agent to challenge the status quo
• Ability to partner with Senior Executives and be a trusted and reliable source of information, analysis and support
• Willingness to take on initiatives and learn new systems and applications
