Intern - Film Distribution/Acquisition

This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship

International film distributor east of downtown Los Angeles area is seeking a resourceful, dynamic self-starter to mentor. Non-paid intern will assist with the acquisitions and marketing of independent films. The right candidate will gain training and invaluable hands-on experience in the international business of films.

DESCRIPTION (Distribution/Acquisition):

- Research, track and qualify independent films and projects through various means.

- Review completed films, attend festivals and screenings to assist with evaluating potential for acquisition and distribution

- Prepare material and screening packages for distributors

- Assist with worldwide film markets / screenings / festivals publicity and preparation

- Assist with international market and sales activities

- Some filing, mailing, general office administrative tasks and ad hoc project

QUALIFICATIONS (Distribution/Acquisition)

- College major in film, media, marketing, communications, or related field with strong research skills

- Passion for films and high literacy in film elements and various genres of independent films

- Articulating and charismatic in interpersonal communication in writing, in person and on the phone

- Personable, professional demeanor and able to handle confidential matters

- Business sense and some office skills (Word, Excel, etc.)
