Overview:
MTV is seeking an outstanding and versatile digital media executive who can help conceive and execute a vision for a new digital lifestyle vertical focused on food, diy and fashion for the gen-z/millennial audience. This role will be responsible for developing content strategy and new video franchises, finding opportunities for collaboration with talent embedded in the digital/social space, while establishing MTV as a leading voice in the lifestyle space across social platforms.
Responsibilities:
• Developing a cohesive content strategy focused on social video franchises across YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat and Twitter
• Ensure that expert digital thinking is represented in every phase of the project
• Lead a talented team of content creators, video producers, social media managers and analysts, inspiring them to deliver the best possible work product
• Establish benchmarks for engagement, traffic and page views, and deploy strategies to deliver on them in partnership with the Senior Digital Analyst
• Represent digital in every key meeting that affects the brand
• Pitch ideas for digital franchises, and find ways to extend the brand across platforms
• Pursue innovation opportunities for content and audience growth
• Partner with Talent on influencer relationship management
Basic Qualifications
• 7 years of digital/social creative experience, preferably within a production setting.
• Experience working on production/television and/or on-air live events is key.
• Food, DIY, Fashion, and social media culture expertise is essential
• Proven track record of executing creative ideas into successful social media projects, with an emphasis on YouTube content development
Additional Qualifications
• Outstanding leadership qualities, with ability to manage up and down effectively, as well as manage others across disciplines. i.e-social, video, content in corporate setting etc.
• A deep understanding of all social media platforms is imperative
• Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills with a proven ability to create a voice for a show/brand. (must be able to provide examples of you aligned with a brand).
• Strong knowledge of paid social space
