Full Time Job
MTV Networks seeks an experienced casting executive to join the Talent & Casting team as a Manager in the Los Angeles office. This individual will join a small team (who is majority based in New York) and contribute towards the casting of non-scripted shows for the network.
Responsibilities:
The Manager will answer to the SVP of Talent & Development and serve as an important contributor towards the casting needs of all unscripted projects including comedy, docu series, hosting, game shows, and more. The manager will need to lead the charge as the west coast team member taking general meetings with talent, staying abreast of pop culture, and keeping up with current trends for the demographic.
Basic Qualifications
• Strong working knowledge of video editing (on Mac)
• Comfortable auditioning talent on camera
• Should have strong producing skills in order to cast proper talent
• Immersed in the world of comedy (should have finger on the pulse of young, fresh, strong comedians)
• Liaison between talent and various network departments for any and all needs be it promotional, production wise, or other
• Participates in scouting (and taking meeting with) new and emerging talent that makes sense for the network
• Must be organized as they will be handling travel needs for channel talent as well as coordinating talent needs for tent pole events
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects at once
• Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent follow-through
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and prioritizing projects to meet deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills to create and maintain positive and effective working relationships
• Proficient to advanced used of Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
• 4-6 years’ experience in casting and/or talent management
