MTV and the Viacom Digital Studio are seeking a Freelance Supervising Producer to oversee the online video development and production of short-form video series for our new Cribs vertical. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising a mid-size team of talent including producers, editors, and assistants. This person should be able to juggle a slate of projects concurrently from pre-production to publishing. The perfect candidate should know the ins and outs of the digital lifestyle space and be able to differentiate our content from the competition. You should bring a wealth of smart ideas to the table and simultaneously be able to collaborate with others on the team. Additionally, it's imperative that you are able to think strategically with not only the brand in mind but also how to maximize impact with the brand's business goals. This role will report to the Director, Lifestyle, MTV.
Responsibilities:
+ Develop and pitch fresh ideas for new and existing video franchises across social platforms
+ Lead content brainstorms with producers and be able to conceive creative briefs that are in line with the content strategy or past video success, voice of the brand, and the goals of the business
+ Must maintain a fully vigorous slate and be able to set deadlines for all parts of the production process from pre- to post-
+ Set measurable and achievable goals for the team and follow up to make sure goals are met
+ Identify workflow pain points and have the means to flag to upper management with actionable solutions
+ Know the digital lifestyle space and be able to identify key ways we can be different and innovative
+ Recognize and pitch relevant talent to leadership for potential shoots
+ Direct producers, shoot support, and editors from pre-production through post-production
+ Provide notes and feedback during post-production that fit within the brand's best practices
+ Be well versed in using data to strategize and discover new content lanes, assets, and positioning
Requirements:
+ 6-7 years of experience running video production at a brand (lifestyle preferred)
+ Superior proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
+ Proven track record for managing a team of producers, editors, and assistants
+ Extreme knowledge of social video that knows how to efficiently optimize assets for different platforms
+ Deep and vast understanding of how to make extremely shareable video content for a variety of social platforms, especially YouTube
+ Have knowledge and understanding of how copy, titling, and thumbnails can vastly affect a video's overall performance
+ Experience in giving creative notes, direction, and workshopping creative ideas and as well as providing effective and actionable technical notes
+ Must be able to manage numerous projects and meet deadlines with excellent attention to detail
+ Be flexible with work hours
+ Must be able to provide previous work samples
+ Has a love for MTV, pop culture, social media, production, and lifestyle content
