Full Time Job
The Coordinator, Creative Music Licensing Strategy will work with Sr. Director, Director VP to manage the use of music within Viacom content (MTV, VH1, Logo,BET, CMT Whosay) from a creative licensing POV, working closely with Production, Development, Music Talent Department, Brand Creative, Digital, Social, MML and the Music Services team.
Basic Qualifications
• 3 years in both a Music coordinator and licensing capacity in the television or film industry.
• Have a comprehensive knowledge of music, its history, genres, and styles, and must be up to date with current music.
• Creative music supervision skills
• Have a working knowledge of the music business and current key issues in the industry
• Understand the creative and practical needs of Music Supervisors, TV Producers and Composers and Artists, Record Labels, Music Publishers, PROs, Music Clearance, Music Agents and Music Administrators
• Be familiar with licensing music for television, digital, and soundtrack platforms.
• Have knowledge and understanding of the creation of music and of the creation of television/digital/social media content
• Have film and TV contacts at record labels and music publishers, PROS and with music supervisors and composers
• Experience working with featured placements – working with record labels, publishers and Network Music and Talent teams, and driving the process from start to finish including oversight and management of the promotion of featured placements on air, on digital and across social, artist showcases and create new promotional opportunities across brands
• Ability to assist with talent showcases
Additional Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Music Business, TV, Film, Communications, or Business preferred.
• Musical training, desired
• College degree in Radio, TV, Film, Music, Communications, Publishing or Business preferred.
