mtheory is hiring an intern to support the Manager Services team out of the Silverlake office. Interns at mtheory gain valuable exposure to all facets of the music business.
mtheory provides artist managers with services, support, and capabilities across a wide range of disciplines, including marketing, touring, live event production, financing, digital services, and label services. Our manager clients include TMWRK (Diplo, Major Lazer), Blood Company (Skrillex, Zedd), Young Turks (The xx, Jamie xx), Element 1 (twenty one pilots, NF), AWGE (A$AP Rocky), Fusion Music Management (Martina McBride), Sandbox Entertainment (Kacey Musgraves), Dalton Sim (fun., Father John Misty), Equative Thinking (GoldLink, Masego) and many more. Based in New York, Los Angeles, and Nashville, mtheory offers artist managers a platform to build their businesses and enhance their artists' careers.
Responsibilities
Support marketing associates and client managers with day-to-day needs
Track streams and other metrics from DSP backends in Excel
Pull necessary Soundscan, Mediabase and Next Big Sound data for distribution
Assist in creating pitches, coordinating artist travel, monitoring project schedules
Perform critical analysis of performance in specific markets landscapes for specific artists
Monitor artist tour dates utilizing industry platforms such as Songkick and Bandsintown
Create and manage artist one sheets, press and other associated promotional materials
Conduct vital artist research, including social network analysis, touring history analysis, and online properties analysis
Opportunities to attend concerts and press events
Participate in marketing meetings, mapping out artists' creative and social media campaigns
Requirements
Knowledgable of DSP backends and other related platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Bandsintown, Songkick, etc.)
Strong organizational skills
High energy, enthusiasm and a desire to learn
A self-starter who can take direction but work independently
An approachable and positive attitude
A strong interest in music, artist and business management
Previous internship experience in the industry is beneficial
Internship in the LA office is part-time and paid (minimum of 2 days per week, for 12 weeks)
