Search for Director of Production Finance jobs in Los Angeles-CA
Prolific independent film and television production and distribution company Motion Picture Corporation of America is currently seeking a candidate to fill the role of Director of Production Finance. The person who fills this role will work directly with the CFO and EVP of Operations to facilitate the financial needs of a robust, growing production company.
Responsibilities include:
• Acting as principal liaison between corporate office and production/post-production accountants.
• Advise Accounting teams and Production Managers regarding courses of action necessary to comply with company's accounting policies and procedures.
• Treasury: Setting up production bank accounts, making deposits, monitoring daily cash flow activity and account balances.
• Accounts Payable: Issuing and tracking all vendor payments, submitting production wires, manage the use and expense reporting of various corporate credit cards ensuring costs are allocated to various productions accurately and filing 1099's.
• Accounts Receivable: Invoicing and tracking all outstanding invoices based on distribution agreements.
• Financial Reporting: Overseeing the month end financial reporting process, numerous bank reconciliations, and account reconciliation review. Aiding financial statement preparation with CFO and external CPA firm.
• Special Projects: Creating corporate and production cash flows, maintaining participation statements, assisting with the production audit process and various other ad-hoc finance projects as needed.
Qualifications:
-5 years experience in entertainment/production finance
-Bachelors degree in accounting/finance; CPA/MBA preferred
-High proficiency with Quickbooks, Microsoft Office, Google Docs
-Ability to prioritize and resolve multiple issues simultaneously
-Excellent written verbal and communication skills
-Proactive approach to problem solving
-Proven ability to multi-task under time constraints
MPCA is based in Los Angeles, CA currently producing 12 - 15 titles per year for distribution mostly on Netflix and Hallmark Media channels. Past company theatrical highlights include DUMB AND DUMBER (Jim Carrey, Jeff Daniels), KINGPIN (Woody Harrelson, Randy Quaid, and Bill Murray), JUNGLE 2 JUNGLE (Tim Allen), BEVERLY HILLS NINJA (Chris Farley), A LOVE SONG FOR BOBBY LONG (John Travolta, Scarlett Johansson), the Emmy and Golden-Globe winning TAKING CHANCE (Kevin Bacon). Recent successes include Netflix's Christmas original films (A CHRISTMAS PRINCE and its sequel as well as CHRISTMAS INHERITANCE, THE HOLIDAY CALENDAR and THE PRINCESS SWITCH) and the long running WHEN CALLS THE HEART series on the Hallmark Channel.
