Position Overview:
The Broadcast Video Technician is responsible for supporting the Production Department in planning, implementing and maintaining a production infrastructure for live content and taped content in studio and on location, VOD, streaming, and Virtual Reality (VR). This position will focus on maintaining the inventory of all broadcasting equipment and infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
• Support the production infrastructure for live content and taped content, VOD, streaming, and Virtual Reality.
• Operate and troubleshoot the control room and live truck systems.
• Implement and maintain an evolving distribution infrastructure for all content.
• Coordinate all shared-media and collaborative broadcasts with broadcast partners.
• Repair on-site and remote broadcast equipment including live, live-to-tape, recorded, and ENG content.
• Support productions and operations teams on studio and remote field productions by setting up and breaking down all equipment and infrastructure.
• Adjust the key parameters of camera and audio signals, video transmissions, and other streams using production tools, boards and control panels.
• Establish and maintain all broadcast transmission links to ensure the clearest signal for broadcast transmission or other distribution.
• Set up and monitor audiovisual links between users in different locations.
• Evaluate, research, and recommend equipment and software acquisitions.
• Ensure that disaster recovery methods are accurate and accessible.
• Maintain equipment inventory, spare parts' inventory, tools and storage areas. Fabricate cables, adapters, and small part modifications as needed.
• Complete regular preventative maintenance on all broadcast equipment, software, and when necessary troubleshoot equipment and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Track equipment maintenance and repairs and generate status reports for both users and supervisor.
• Isolate and troubleshoot engineering and IT issues as needed to keep systems running and content on air, minimizing loss of service when equipment or systems fail.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Engineering or related field and/or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience working with freelance vendors.
• Excellent attention to detail and deadline driven.
• Working understanding of broadcast audio techniques and lighting.
• Knowledge and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and with a team.
• Confidence to make quick decisions and troubleshoot in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
• Proven track record with camera, lighting and sound equipment.
• Understanding of tapeless work environment.
• Ability to easily lift and carry 40lbs of equipment.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
