We are a start-up company looking for a Business Development Manager to work hand in hand with our agency's founder as her manager in an effort to improve her market position and achieve financial growth. This position is for a self-starter who believes in assisting in building a small business from the ground up and is open to a potential business partnership, if all goes well. It is important that the candidate defines long-term organizational strategic goals, builds key clientele relationships on behalf of the founder, identifies business opportunities, negotiates and closes business deals and maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions for the betterment of the founder's brand and companies.
It is also important that this person understands and is able to increase sales opportunities and thereby maximize revenue for this public figure and organization. To achieve this, they need to find potential new prospects, present to them, ultimately convert them into clients, and continue to grow business in the future that will benefit both the founder and company.
Ultimately, we are looking for someone who understands the concept of business, who can advise and manage the activities of the founder and also embodies an exceptional work ethic, thrives under pressure and willing to take on challenges while maintaining a positive attitude.

Job Description
The primary role of the Business Development Manager is to prospect for new clients by networking, cold calling, advertising or other means of generating interest from potential clients. They must then plan persuasive approaches and pitches that will convince potential clients to do business with the company.
They must develop a rapport with new clients for founder, and set targets for sales and provide support that will continually improve the relationship. They are also required to grow and retain existing accounts by presenting new solutions and services to founder.
While the exact responsibilities will vary from company to company, the main duties of the Business Development Manager can be summarized as follows:
New Business Development
- Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business.
- -Research and build relationships with new clients within our market or geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.
- Identify potential clients in the founders field of expertise and the decision makers within the client organization..
- Set up meetings between founder and company's practice leaders/Principals.
- Plan approaches and pitches. * Work with team to develop proposals that speaks to the client's needs, concerns, and objectives.
- Participate in pricing the founders rates for her services.
- Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion.
(Use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately)
- Present an image that mirrors that of the founder
Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships.
Business Development Planning
Business development management positions require a bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of sales or marketing experience. An MBA is often requested as well.
