Job Title: Statistical Technical Coordinator (Contractor)

Reports to: Director of Technology

Summary/Objective: The Independent Contractor is responsible for technical support of Statistics equipment, arena technology and related personnel.
• Work approximately 45 games during Timberwolves and Lynx regular season playoffs
• Arrive 3 hours before games to assist with game setup
• Be available during game to provide technical assistance to game operation staff
• Break-down post-game, approximately 1 hour
Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform these essential functions:
• Set up of electronic equipment: score board controller, clock controller, shot clock
• Set up of Statistics equipment: printers, copiers, laptops, network switches.
• Set up of temporary networks for Stats, media, other miscellaneous equipment
• Interact with game referees
• Trouble shoot Windows and Mac o/s
• Trouble shoot WIFI connectivity issues
• Interact with home and visiting teams for technical support
• Interact with NBA in-game-support both by phone and RTS comm's

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other:
• Be a strong troubleshooter and have the ability to research and solve problems on your own.

• Ability to work under extreme pressure and timelines.
• Ability to interact with demanding personalities with discretion and good judgement.
Education:
Pursuing college degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Experience: Sports or live entertainment experience is helpful but not required.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have supervisory responsibility
Work Environment
Hours may vary on a day to day basis which may include some evenings, weekends and holidays. It operates in a sports arena, which includes ascending and descending bleachers/steps, walking on a catwalk over arena floor (100 feet up), and crawling into tight and dimly lit spaces (under bleachers/risers) to troubleshoot technology issues. In the sports arena the work conditions may sometimes be dirty from prior events in the arena (sticky and dirty floors).
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, kneel, or crawl. The employee may frequently remain in a stationary position, as well as operate computers and other office equipment, such as a copy machine, printer and telephone. Staff will frequently ascend and descend bleachers/steps and traverse around the building both on event days and non-event days. Staff may occasionally move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
