Summary:
The TV Systems Technician is responsible for event day preparation and operation of the Wisconsin Entertainment and Sports Center (WESC) content management and Internet protocol (IP) TV system, Cisco Vision (formerly Cisco StadiumVision). The TV Systems Tech shall also cross-train on a Daktronics LED Video Display System to be secondary backup to the Daktronics Systems Tech.
This position will serve as the arena's first point of contact for events and will be required to expedite requests and issues as applicable. The TV Systems Tech will also be responsible for performing basic Cisco Vision maintenance and administration as well as performing basic troubleshooting across the overall system to identify issues impacting standard Cisco Vision operations. This shall be done under the guidance of an on-staff Network Engineer.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
• Serve as Cisco Vision event day operator and representative for the venue regarding group & zone assignments, sponsorship commitments, custom configurations, etc.
• Create and manipulate Cisco Vision scripts used to control the building IPTV system.
• Manage all content created for and playlists associated with playback through Cisco Vision.
• Perform building-wide quality control checks for events.
• Create and edit content needed for event playback.
• Work closely with building food and beverage representatives to manage dynamic menu signage.
• Deploy new DMP hardware.
• Document system errors or issues that occur during events in appropriate IPTV system event logs.
• Perform other duties as assigned such as support of Daktronics LED system.
Qualification Requirements:
• Associates or Bachelor's degree, in relevant field plus 2 years of progressively responsible positions or experience in the job offered.
• Experience working with customers and operating IT based systems in a real-time live production environment.
• Effective communication, time management, and customer management skills.
• Comfortable working in high-pressure environment requiring real-time decision making.
• Experience working with headend (content packet encoding and distribution across an IP network) and router/switching configurations.
• Understanding of basic cabling and connectivity diagrams of interconnected systems and devices.
• Experience with graphical content creation (i.e. Adobe Creative Suite).
• Self-starter requiring little supervision that is highly organized with the ability to effectively prioritize and drive closure across an array of tasks.
• Must have the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays for event operation, execution, and necessary system maintenance.
• Experience with live broadcast production environments a plus.
