Summary:
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the day to day support of all WESC Arena venue, office, and partner network environments. This position will also plan and manage the installation, configuration, and tuning of all network infrastructure. The Senior Network Engineer will perform a wide variety of technical duties which include, but are not limited to network design, installation, modification, documentation, maintenance, advanced problem diagnosis, root cause analysis, and repair of all network hardware and software. This position will guide other network resources and will have the greatest focus on Layer 3, IPTV, and cyber security services.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
• Design, configure, implement, and maintain various network security, WAN, LAN, IPTV and wireless infrastructure devices in the venue using industry best practices
• Design, configure, implement, and maintain Internet Services and Cloud services.
• Provide level III (advanced) support and guidance to the core OT/IT teams
• Must be able to develop and document physical and logical network designs and speak to the nature of the designs
• Prioritize, complete, and oversee projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines
• Work with various 3rd parties to facilitate, manage and execute any special event OT/IT requirements
• Develop support documentation and document network changes with proper Visio diagrams and spreadsheets
• Participation in root cause analysis and post mortem processes with various OT/IT groups and 3rd parties.
• Participate in an on-call rotation, work off-hours, work extended hours and participate in a 24/7 on-call schedule as directed
Qualification Requirements:
• B.S. in Computer Science preferred, Engineering or equivalent work experience
• Certifications: Cisco CCNP preferred.
• Experience with designing, managing and implementing a fully converged network including WiFi, Firewalls, Routers, Switches, BGP, OSPF, and IPSec.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with IPSec environments.
• Minimum of 5 years of configuring Firewalls, Routers, Switches, Wireless Controllers using best practices.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with routing and NHRP protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and HSRP.
• Minimum of 5 years of troubleshooting complex network issues in an enterprise network environment.
• Minimum of 2 years of hands on experience with AWS or Azure network design, implementation and troubleshooting.
• Ability to configure and troubleshoot network security controls, including firewalls, VPN, and ACL's.
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions such as heat, cold, dust, and wind.
• Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written including network
documentation with MS Visio.
• Possess the ability to rack, stack, lift IT equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Work effectively either independently or as a team.
• Communicate both orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.
• Ability to prioritize requests, organize, schedule and coordinate a variety of activities and projects.
