Job Purpose
Mills Entertainment is seeking an Audio/Video Technician for a tour in July 2018. The purpose of this position is to provide the tour with the technical support needed on the ground including, but not limited to, leading and participating in the set-up and strike of tour's audio and video equipment, operating the video system during performances, maintaining tour's audio and video equipment, and general support to the rest of the touring crew.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Participate in and direct/supervise local audio and video crew during load-in and load-out
• Lead sound check in conjunction with the Tour Manager
• Execute audio and video cues for each performance
• Operate the switcher every performance
• Participate in pre-production, production, and advance calls as necessary
• Assist other departments when necessary or available
Required Qualifications:
• Must be experienced with Christie and Barco projectors and software
• Must be experienced with fast fold projection screens
• Must have experience programming and operating video switchers, including ATEM Blackmagic products
• Must be proficient with various wireless microphone systems and coordinating RF
• Must be proficient with MacBook Pro laptops and QLab 3 or 4
• Must have touring experience - at least 2 years preferably
• Must have experience working in Union houses, under Union rules
• Have the ability to work in a fast paced environment and be self-motivated with strong leadership skills
• Must be able to solve problems as and when they may arise
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an outgoing, positive dynamic personality to engage partners and team members
• Able to work varied hours and commit 100% of time for regional travel and work on the road for the entire tour
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must be willing to submit to a background check
Preferred Skills
• Higher consideration will be given to candidates who have worked with celebrity or high-profile talent in the past
Competitive weekly rates. Per-diem, housing, and transportation are provided to, from and throughout tour. Transpiration will be primarily via sleeper coach. Housing is provided on days off only, single occupancy.
