Position Summary:
The Director of Game Presentation will build and lead a team dedicated to producing the most engaging and exciting game experience in baseball. As part of the Marketing Department, reporting to the Senior Vice President, Marketing and Community Relations, the Director of Game Presentation will be responsible for the creative vision, implementation, and execution of the in-arena experience for the Miami Marlins. The Director of Game Presentation will oversee all game presentation and entertainment staff including in-arena hosts, dance team, music staff, and other entertainment assets.
Essential Functions:
• Develop content and unparalleled fan experiences, infusion the flavor of Miami into programming.
• Direct all Miami Marlins home games and other events as required.
• Develop game day and event show content, organizing run of show and script writing for all departments.
• Executive producer for all games; coordinating all video board content production including the video open, in-game features and other video elements.
• Coordinate shoots with players for in-arena videoboard features.
• Collaborate closely with Corporate Partnership department to develop in-game promotions that maximize the fan experience and partnership satisfaction.
• Oversee all in-game music production.
• Oversee the selection of National Anthem and Color Guard performances.
• Research new talent in the music and entertainment industries to enhance the entertainment experience
lead pre-game rehearsals for all show elements.
• Provide direction to all entertainers and game night staff to ensure every contest, performance, and sponsored element is properly executed.
• Collaborate with internal departments to promote internal initiatives in-arena.
• Manage the Game Presentation and Scoreboard Operations budget.
• Attend conferences to gather industry knowledge and best industry practices.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain positive and supportive working relationships
• Must be willing to multi-task, handle multiple projects at once, be self-directed, work independently and handle creative direction/feedback.
• Must be able to adapt to situational changes and schedule or accommodate changing needs.
• Must have strong management skills and the ability to oversee multiple departments and projects at one time
Must demonstrate success in budget management and control.
• Must have the ability to demonstrate uncompromised judgment and discretion with regard to interpersonal relationships; a strong sense of self-awareness and emotional intelligence is imperative.
• Must be able to work well in a collaborative group environment, be a flexible and reliable team player (both within own department and within company as a whole).
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality and use discretion when handling sensitive information.
• Able to identify problems, their sources, and their potential solutions while continuing to successfully conduct day-to-day operations without interruption.
• Must have superior organizational skills and be comfortable with Excel.
• Must be able to work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.
• Self-starter and entrepreneurial spirit with hands-on approach towards business.
• He/she will be expected to attend all games at Marlins Park, as well as other events that may take place on weekends and/or holidays.
Suggested Education & Experience Guidelines:
• Bachelor's degree require.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a related position are required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a management or supervisory role in live entertainment production
• Baseball, Sports and Live Entertainment experience preferred.
